Huntington Ingles Industries – Welding Tables

C.E. Thurston’s Hampton distribution team recently supplied 20 Strong Hand Tools BuildPro welding tables to Huntington Ingles Industries for a new offsite welding and fabrication facility supporting shipyard operations in Newport News. As part of a long-standing relationship, C.E. Thurston worked closely with the customer early in the planning process to ensure the new facility would be properly equipped before production began. The project involved coordinating with the local manufacturer’s representative to meet with the customer and recommend the right welding tables for their fabrication needs.

The BuildPro tables were selected for their heavy-duty construction and versatility in welding environments. Designed with precision CNC-machined 5/8-inch holes arranged in a 2-inch grid pattern, the tables allow for accurate positioning and clamping of components during fabrication. Their reversible, self-locating tabletop plates provide flexible fixturing options and extended service life, while the robust steel construction supports demanding industrial workloads. These capabilities made them a strong fit for the type of welding and fabrication work expected at the new facility.

Because the tables were needed to outfit an entirely new building, timing was critical. C.E. Thurston ensured the equipment was delivered months ahead of schedule, helping the shipyard stay on track as they prepared the facility for operations. By coordinating sourcing, manufacturer collaboration, and delivery logistics, C.E. Thurston helped ensure the customer had the essential equipment in place so welding and fabrication work could begin as soon as the new facility came online.
